menauitpuitptransport#MENAUITP Land Transport Projects 4 Bus Public Transport GCC Rail Bahrain Urban Transit 105km light rail network 25km, 17 stations first phase at preliminary design stage. 8,000-10,000 pphd initial capacity. Connections to the airport and GCC Rail station. True alternative to private car use and real solution to congestion. First Phase of the Integrated Transport Network for Bahrain. New Operator on board with new modern buses. Nationwide coverage as the main public transport alternative. Dual role in the future as the feeder for Light Rail and mainline rail services as well as providing nationwide coverage. 700 Km network length with fleet about 141 buses coming in different 3 sizes. Special facilities for families and handicap, and new CCTV system. 2100km rail route connecting all six GCC member states. Freight and passenger traffic Interoperable services. Each member state building their own section of the route. Bahrain first phase will connect Bahrain with KSA. 36% of the freight traffic and 6% of the car traffic over the causeway is expected to be shifted to rail.

menauitpuitptransport#MENAUITP Ticketing System 12 The Operator launched the ticketing system in 3 phases: February 2015 to August 2015 Paper ticket only. August 2015- May 2016 Paper ticket + Go Card. May 2016 Go Card only.

menauitpuitptransport#MENAUITP Bus Terminals 16 MTT developed all the terminals in Bahrain (Muharraq, Manama and Isa Town) from the beginning of the new operations in April 2015.
