S ABBATHS AND J UBILEES Leviticus 25

L EV.23:1-2 The L ORD said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘These are my appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the L ORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.

L EV.25:4 But in the seventh year the land is to have a year of Sabbath rest, a Sabbath to the L ORD. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards.

L EV.25:23 The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers.

L EV.25:23 (NLT) The land must never be sold on a permanent basis, for the land belongs to me. You are only foreigners and tenant farmers working for me.

L EV.25:24 Throughout the land that you hold as a possession, you must provide for the redemption of the land.

H EBREWS 4:9-11 There remains, then, a Sabbath- rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

L EV.25:38 I am the L ORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God.
