Middle School vs. Junior High 270 Students, 3 Teams 6 th grade teams: Bears and Blackhawks  Core group of five teachers work with a fixed set of students for six out of the nine class periods each day.  Core teachers have common time each day to discuss students & plan curriculum/learning activities.  One counselor works with the two teams at the same grade level and “loops” with the students. Core teams of teachers who get to deeply know and understand a set of students lies at the heart of middle school.
