18 Samand General Group… 15. Fuse box:
The fuse box is located in the engine bay just below the windscreen.

19 Samand General Group… 16. Branch box:
The branch box is located on the left hand wing just up from the headlamp.

20 Samand General Group… 17. Relays:
The relayes set is located under the left hand side of the Instrument Panel.

21 Samand Power Unit… 1. Battery:
The terminal voltage of the battery is 12V. The battery located on the left hand side of the engine with the negative terminal connected to the body.

22 Samand Power Unit… 2. Alternator:
The alternator is an alternative generator. A diode bridge located in the rear flange converts the alternating current to direct current, necessary for charging the battery. By construction, the alternator automatically regulates current, but the voltage is controlled by a regulator incorporated in the alternator.

25 Samand Power Unit… 3. Starter:
The starter motor is fitted to the engine block. A solenoid engages a pinion with the ring gear on the engine's flywheel. When the engine is started and the engine speed exceeds the starter motor rpm, the pinion is disengaged from its shaft via a free wheel. This prevents the starter motor from over reeving.

32 Samand Driver Information... 1. Alarm control unit (ACU):
ACU is located in middle of front panel . There are a display and a keyboard for comminuting between driver and ACU.

33 Samand Driving Comfort... 1. Mirrors:
The door mirrors are electrically controlled and operated from a 4 position switch and selector switch located on the driver's door console on the trim pad.

34 Samand Assistance Mechanisms... 1. Front window lift:
Only electric windows are available. Both front and rear doors are of the cable type. The motors are mounted on the window lift. The switch unit is located on the driver's door from which all windows can be operated. The switches for the front door windows are of the 3 step type. Two opening positions and 1 closing position. The first opening position will open windows until the switch is released or the window reaches the stop position. The second opening position will open the window all the way without keeping the window switch depressed.

35 Samand Assistance Mechanisms... 2. Rear window lift:
The switch unit is located on the driver's door from which all windows can be operated. There is also an isolator switch which when operated will block the rear windows. The switches for the rear window are of the 2 step type, the lift is operated up or down until the switch is released or the window reaches its stop position.

36 Samand Assistance Mechanisms… 3. Screen wiper:
Stroke (stroke/min) and current consumption at 13.5V on wet windscreen: -low speed /- 6rpm -high speed /- 8rpm Rated current consumption: -low speed 10 A -high speed 10 A

38 Samand Assistance Mechanisms... 5. Warning lamp indication:
ECU with definite faults can not work, so it can not control warning lamp in fault status. Under this circumstances, warning lamp will be lightened by a proper current, which are in the next slide: Absence of battery power supply to the system: Warning light will be lightened continuously with self inspection drive function. Absence of interior working voltage: Lamp will be lightened continuously. Reset arisen by failing spring of watching dog: Warning lamp shines. Damaged ECU: Lamp will be lightened continuously. Incomplete socket connection: lamp will be lightened continuously.

39 Samand Assistance Mechanisms... 5. Warning lamp indication:

40 Samand Assistance Mechanisms... 6. Pre-tensioning seatbelt:
To make sure a seatbelt restrains an occupant as early as possible in a crash, thereby reduce the load on the occupant in a violent crash, New system have developed pretensioners. These tighten the belt during the very first fractions of a second in a crash. Pretensioners also reduce the risk of "submarining" (the car occupant slip under a loosely tightened seatbelt). New pretensioners use pyrotechnic devices that are typically equipped with the same sensor as the airbag.

41 Samand Assistance Mechanisms... 6. Pre-tensioning seatbelt:
Load limiters absorb the load in a crash in a very efficient way by keeping the belt force at a controlled and pre-defined level. This is accomplished by a mechanism in the retractor that allows webbing to be pulled out slightly - and in a controlled way - if the load on an occupant's body becomes too high in a violent crash. The system is typically used in combination with an airbag which then absorbs the excessive energy. This is especially important for elderly, since studies have shown that a 60 year old person can only take half as much load on his rib cage as a twenty year old person. The load limiter is typically integrated with the retractor, where a specially designed bar holds the spindle with the webbing. When the force from the webbing reaches a pre-set level, the bar will twist, allowing the spindle to turn and thereby limiting the load on the occupant's chest. Seatbelt systems with load limiters typically also have pretension that reduce the forward motion of the occupant by tightening the belt at the onset of a crash.

42 Samand Assistance Mechanisms... 6. Pre-tensioning seatbelt:
NOTE: 1- never attempt to disassemble or repair the seat belt pretensioner(retractor assy) .if any abnormality is found , be sure to replace it with new one as an assembly. 2- Be sure to read precautions on service and diagnosis of seat belt. before starting to work and absorb every precaution during work. neglecting them may result in personal injury or Unactivation of the seat belt pretensioner when necessary. 3- Never masure resistance of pretensioner or disassemble it. otherwise personal injury may result.

43 Samand Assistance Mechanisms... 7. Air bag diagnosis:
Diagnosis communication protocol of SL7airbag is KWP2000. Adjust the fire switch to “ON” and turn on airbag system power after airbag installation. At that moment, the airbag system warning lamp on dash board will last shining for 6 seconds (total lasting time is about 6 seconds), which indicates airbag runs normally. The below condition needs to perform inspection and fault clearance for airbag System: a. Warning lamp shines again but turn off after initial 6 second shining. That indicates there are already fault records in ECU. Such kind of record can be cleared , it will recover after being cleared with diagnosis instrument. b. Warning lamp keeps shine all the time. That indicates airbag system fault or more than 10 times of fault records which can be cleared. That needs to inspect ECU fault record, find out where the fault is and eliminate it. Cut off the airbag system power and at least stay 60 seconds during fault clearance.

44 Samand Assistance Mechanisms... 8. Diagnosis tool of airbag system:
It should be used IKCO_DIAG Version 6.1 for Samand airbag diagnosis. Identification: We can check specifications of Airbag ECU. Faults reading: We can see faults of airbag system. Faults erasing: We can erase faults of airbag system. Parameter measurement: We can check parameter after crashing. Actuator test and Others: Don't do any action in this software.
