A Study of the Creative Thinking in Robot Combat Contest Author : Jon-chao Hong Coauthors : Hung-Yu,Tseng; Hsin-Yi,Chang
2
Power Tech Robot Combat Contest Objectives : Promote Technology creativity. Enhance Group working.
3
Power Tech Robot Combat Contest Objectives : Generate fulfill spirit. Develop scientific attitude: Like to create, Willing to create, Love to think, Happy to think.

Technological Creation Spirals Spiral is consisted of three phases: Functions and form planning. Material processing and assembly. Evaluation The more spirals, the less multiple- thinking and vice versa. Conclusion StepClarificationStatements OneIdentify problems Ideal result: is a balance between the two: 1.Crank rod too long and torsion too weak. 2.Crank rod too short and working speed too slow. Lose center of gravity. TwoAnalyze Problems 1.Confirm that problem arises from the mechanical design. There is contradiction between torsion and speed. 2.Find appropriate balance. 3.See whether the problem includes issues such as friction, center of gravity, etc. 4.Unbalanced walking leads to loss in motive force. Three Categorize Problems 1.Technological contradiction in crank rod design. 2.Parallel design errors. 3.Unskillful processing technique.

Conclusion StepClarificationStatements Four Select appropriate approaches to solve technological contradictions 1.Select crank rod length according to project size. 2.Select crank rod length according to contest strategies. 3.Design form according to contest strategies. 4.Improve processing skills. Five Propose all possible ideas for solution 1.Increasing friction e.g. by adding rough sand paper. 2.Enhance rod torsion e.g. by shortening the length of rod. 3.balancing the center of gravity. Six Evaluate ideas for problem solving 1.Feasibility of different lengths. 2.Impact of friction on robot function. 3.Impact of gravity center on function. SevenImplement the ideas 1.Deciding the crank rod length. 2.Making crank rods in appropriate length. 3. Testing function.
