ARTEMIS Industry Association Title Presentation - 2 Introduction Choosing and optimizing the right elements is the key issue to succeed in selecting and deploying WSN and related services and applications. Virtualization can provide a fast an accurate framework to evaluate the correctness of technology choice and to sell products with higher customer confidence. Virtualization will cover 2 different aspects: simulation using virtual models of the WSN components and virtualized communications (i.e. virtual wires).

Using techniques like HW virtualization and HW/SW cosimulations (C++/SystemC) we plan to produce a fast exploration framework Using this exploration we pretend to get better, faster and global results on trafic, latency, throughput, energy, memory, cost, etc that will let to an important optimization of resources, thus reducing time to market Focus on System Design Methods & Tools Impact on: ASP5: Computing environments for embedded systems ASP7: Embedded technology for sustainable urban life ASP3: Smart environments & ASP2: Healthcare systems
