What Motivates You? Acts 28:17-21
2
To Do the Right Thing To please God? Or please men? – Matt. 6:1-6, 16-18 To make a point? Or because you have compassion on those who are lost? – Phil. 1:15-17 Because you fear the Lord? Or because you fear punishment from earthly authorities? – 2 Pet. 2:4-10 God gives us all the motivation we will ever need!
3
To Do the Wrong Thing Like pride, among others – Mark 7:20-23 Fear can motivate us to do what we should not, or leave undone that which the Lord commands – Luke 19:20-23 Greed, or a sense of entitlement – 1 Cor. 6:1-8 Satan tries to give us “reasons” to disobey God. He can be a strong motivator, but he cannot force our hands!

Conclusion All day, every day, we are faced with choices. Some involving a lot of time, while some in the “heat of the moment.” But the actions we take, regardless of the length of the thought process, are always motivated by something. Are you motivated to do good things? If so, is it the right motivation?
