9 When the Case can be Closed? The decision to close a child protection case is a multi- disciplinary decision; A case should be closed when there are no remaining needs or risks to the child’s development or welfare and his/her parents are fully able to meet his/her needs; A child can be referred back to the CPU if the situation changes and the child needs a service.
