What’s the real story??!!....

The fungus in this ant’s body drove it to climb up to the tree tops. Then the fungus burst out of the ant’s head and rained spores down on potential victims below to start the cycle again.

When stung by the parasitic jewel wasp, cockroaches lose all free will, allowing themselves to be led around by their antennae like dogs on leashes. The wasps pull the cockroaches into their underground lairs and lay their eggs inside the roaches’ abdomens. When the larvae hatch, they eat their hosts’ bodies from the inside out – while the roaches are still alive. The mature wasps emerge from the roaches’ bodies after about a month.

Baculovirus changes one gene inside the caterpillar. It stops it from molting (which means it stops eating so a higher percentage of its insides is viral goo) and forces it to climb to the treetops. There the virus causes the caterpillar to dissolve, raining the bacteria down on unsuspecting caterpillars below.

Toxoplasma gondii is a parasite found in cats. Mice and rats infected with T. gondii become attracted to cat urine and have a diminished sense of fear around cats, making them easy prey—so that the parasite can find its way back into the cat to complete its life cycle. Pregnant women are not supposed to handle kitty litter. Why? Because the T. gondii parasite comes out in cat feces and can infect humans. It is especially dangerous to fetal development, but may also play a role in schizophrenia.
