How does God’s Word interpret Success or Failure - Obedience ■We have been environmentally conditioned to believe that life is based in the concept of being either a success or a failure. ■As I research the Holy Scriptures, I can find very little evidence that supports this concept. ■However, there are multiple references to being Humble… Submissive and most of all… Obedient!.

3. ■One of the problems with success and failure is based on how do you measure it and how do you know when you have achieved it? ■However, obedience is measureable; it is attainable and can be achieved. Many of us spend most of the productive years of our lives seeking success and trying to avoid failure. ■When really all God has required of us is Obedience!

4. ■This is why we often struggle through life unsatisfied because we have been trying to obtain something that is unobtainable. ■Let us seek to be obedient servants in every aspect of our life and “success” will become a by-product.

6. Godly Measures of Success ■1 Chronicles 22:13 – “Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the Lord gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” ■Proverbs 2:7 – “He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless…” ■John 17:5-10 – Perhaps Jesus measure of “Success” can be seen in this prayer

7. Godly Examples of Obedience ■1 Tim 6:1-6 Contentment ■Colossians 3:22-25 – Obey masters ■Philippians 2:3-8 – Lowliness of spirit ■Ephesians 6:5-8 – Submission
