2
Warm-Up Answer 4 Types of Currency: – EuRussia Notes – AmeriLat Notes – PacAsia Notes – MidAfri Notes
3
Learning Target I can exchange currency and keep track of my spending. Success Criteria: – I can read through a scenario and complete a currency log – I know how to use the currency log in my passport.

Travelling When travelling around the world, it is important to keep track of expenses, food, entertainment and tourist items that you purchase. If you didn’t keep track and suddenly ran out of money it would not only ruin your trip, but it could also make it difficult to return home. Keeping track by memory is NOT effective or wise.
5
Checking Track of Expenses On the back cover of your passport there is a Currency Log. This Currency Log should be used to track your expenses (what you spend) while at International Towne. (teacher should show the Log in the Passport now) Today, you are going to practice using a Currency Log. You will read a scenario in your workbook and track the spending on a Log.

Turn to page 41 in your workbook Read the DIRECTIONS at the top of page 41. Hand out the copy of the Currency Exchange Table (this is a class set, turn in after you finish your Log) With your positive peer you need to read through the scenario. As you read complete the Currency Log on page 42. Go slow and do one step at a time. It could be confusing at first. Just re-read until you figure it out. If you get stuck ask the teacher. They have an answer key.

We cannot just rely on other people to change the world. We have to step up and make the changes ourselves! – Whatever you do not complete, finish for homework!

Connect 21 Today, you will be writing to your 6 th grade Pen Pal. If you do not remember their name, see the substitute teacher. The letter must address the following: – How your year is going so far – Describe you favorite class and why its your favorite. – Explain what you like to do outside of school – Tell them about your “Wagner Way” project and how it is going. If there is time left after writing your letter, please use the supplies I have left to make a Valentine for your Pen Pal, be creative and have fun!
