Purpose The purpose of our project is to help Tanzanians and Americans better understand each others’ lives so they can better work together. We feel that many times, people do not really understand the people they are helping. Often times, especially for international aid, an “us and them” mentality develops. Aid givers need to realize the potential the people have on their own, and work with them to figure out sustainable solutions instead of simply providing hand-outs.

Project Development in Tanzania Worked in Roche Distributed 20 disposable cameras 3 age groups 10-12 13-18 18-26 Almost exactly half males and half females Gave out a stack of post-it notes and a pen to each participant as thanks for helping us with our project Got back 19 of the 20 cameras

Project Plans for Cincinnati We have a Cincinnati school in mind, but we have yet to contact them to see if their students would be willing to participate in our project Once we do that, we will set a date to go into the classes in late August or early September to explain the project guidelines and then return in a few days to collect the cameras We will be using the same age groups and will again try to get an equal number of males and females
5
Exhibit Plans We are planning to make an exhibit of the two sets of photos once they are all developed and the selected ones printed This exhibit can be used to raise awareness about Village Life and the lives of the people they are working with in Tanzania An exhibit will be done here and we are also planning to send one to Roche with the October Brigade We also are planning on sending the villagers copies of their pictures in October
