5. Theatre House/ Stage Area In 400 B.C., the Greek Theatre could seat over 15,000 people. Sometimes, people sitting in the back had a hard time hearing. The area behind the acting area was called the skene (skuh-nay). It was used as the actors’ dressing rooms The theatre was much like ours today- open. It had the stage flat and the audience tilted, and was made of stone. It could seat over 15,000.

6. Costumes and Make-Up The Greek Theatre didn’t use make-up. They used masks to show their emotions, and the masks established the character. Because of the masks, one person could play multiple personas. Men wore women’s clothing. There were no female actresses allowed
