GaDOE GraduateFIRST SPDG Initiative School-level teams Improvement plans Address dropout prevention, instruction and behavior Teams receive coaching, TA and resources Students develop self- determination/self-advocacy skills Participating schools have shown: improved graduation rates reduced dropout rates decreased out-of-school suspensions (OSS) and in-school suspensions (ISS) increased attendance rates improved reading and math achievement for students with disabilities

Our Collaborations with Georgia DOE Data P2PGA contributed - 8 regional roundtable discussions about transition Family Survey (APR) SSIP Survey (1329 responses in less than 2 weeks) Quarterly and annual data from the PTI P2PGA’s role in data analysis – SSIP stakeholder committee meetings Data review and analysis Input into selection of Georgia’s SIMR (focus area) Recommendations for target LEAs Participation in regional stakeholder groups

What’s Next in Georgia? Awareness and content training for staff on initiatives re: graduation, data, SSIP Training for parents, families, professionals Understand what needs to happen to get to graduation Understand that decisions you make now will impact whether you get there or not PBIS – family education component – tying it to graduation; education about school-wide PBIS on the “front end”

What’s Next in Georgia? Fact Sheet development (4 sets – preschool, elementary, MS, HS) – what to do to get to graduation with regular diploma Re-deliver fact sheet content as webinars Get fact sheets to local schools to distribute at IEP meetings Translate fact sheets Fact sheets on various websites; additional widespread dissemination
