2 Animals The Rainforest has a very diverse animal kingdom. Common animals include: Gorilla, Boa, Toucan, Red Eyed Tree Frog, and the Birdwing. Some More Dangerous animals include: Many Insects/ Creepy Crawlies, Coral snake, Poison Arrow Frog, and the hoatzin.

3 Animals Cont. FUN FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Basilisks can walk on water. There are more than 2,000 species of butterflies. Flying animals include: Squirrels, Snakes, and Frogs. Bats are essential for the pollination of many tropical foodstuffs such as bananas and mangoes.

4 ANIMALS STILL CONTINUED……… Larger Animals: Apes, orangutans, tigers, jags Smaller Animals: MILLIONS of insects, birds, lizards, and other reptiles Used for food: A wide variety of fish and birds and many hunters poach apes for their hides.

5 Plants A lot of plants in the rainforest are used for breakthroughs in modern medicine. Orchids are very colorful flowers that are very common in the rain forest. Indian Paintbrush leaves are beautiful leaves like look almost like flowers. The are so rare that only few people have seen them.

6 Plants Cont. Epiphytes are very common trees that you can find all over the rainforest. There are four basic levels of height in the rainforest. The people that live in villages in the rainforest make do with the food that is available.

7 Geography In the rain forest it is sort of rocky. There is a lot of grass. There are also a lot of trees. The geography of the rain forest is flat, has hills, and mountains. The rainforest is located all around the equator. Asia, South America, and Africa.

8 Geography cont. Rainforests usually have a large river going through the middle. (Amazon) Many different ethnic groups. The rainforest is being destroyed at a rapid rate. Every minute, the area a size of a football field is destroyed.

9 Travel Shorts, shirts, water, food, vaccinations, shoes. Like extreme camping. Many dangerous animals and insects to watch out for. Can go there any time of year, weather changes little to none.
