Yes/No Question and its short answer A yes/no question is a question that may be answered by yes or no. [DWS] Question 3

A tag question is a special construction in English. It is a statement followed by a mini-question. We use tag questions at the end of statements to ask for confirmation. The basic structure is: Positive statement, negative tag? Negative statement, positive tag? [DWS] Question 19
