What is the JSNA? The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) has been a statutory requirement for upper-tier Local Authorities and Primary Care Trusts since 2008 Purpose – to analyse the health needs of the population to inform the commissioning of health, wellbeing and social care services

JSNA where are we at? Now complete Due to be published – ( will be available on NHS Derby City and Derby City Council websites) Using JSNA to start development of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy

Next steps - workshops Children, young people & maternity Adults, health & ageing well Lifestyle, behaviour & wider determinants Mental health & wellbeing Health protection & sexual health

Next steps - workshops Each workshop will aim to: Review the information available Provide a ‘sense check’ Prioritise the issues

Health and Wellbeing Strategy Development is the responsibility of the Health and Wellbeing Board Identifies the key health and wellbeing priorities Identifies how these will be tackled

Next, next steps ‘Mini’ process this year to put in place high level Health and Wellbeing Strategy Develop an appropriate and timely process for JSNA and health and Wellbeing Strategy development
