6. How is the coal brought to the surface and what happens to the coal when it is extracted? Coal is brought to the surface by using a conveyor system and heavy machinery.

8. Why is mining so dangerous? Who oversees the mine industry? Mining is dangerous because you have a chance to get stuck in the cave. The NSW Oversees the mine industry.
