1 Instructions for creating a Student Profile in ChapterNet Updated January 13, 2015

2 Helpful Hints Complete your profile completely and accurately. You will match to more Dollars for Scholars or Scholarship America scholarships if you provide complete information. Check back frequently to see if you qualify for additional scholarship opportunities. New scholarships are added periodically. Make sure the following sections have been completed before selecting “Apply” for any scholarships. Basic Information – Items with one or more stars next to them must be completed Additional Information – Demographic information must be completed. We do not need Other information at bottom. However, you may not be matched to other scholarships if you do not complete this sub-section Schools – This entire section for those with one or more stars next to it needs to be completed Activities – This section needs to be completed. For each Dollars For Scholars event you have participated in please provide a separate activity. Use this information to help fill in one of our additional questions when applying for our scholarship Awards – Please complete this section with any known scholarships you have been awarded and the amount of each award if financial Parent/Guardian Information – For those 18 or older you do not need to complete this section Financial Info – Please provide your FAFSA EFC. You may have your parents complete their financial information to help you be matched to other scholarships Essay – Please complete the two essays All other sections do not need to be completed for you to apply for the Upward Bound at USM Dollars for Scholars Scholarship. 5 Student Access First time users, “click here” to start the login process If you already have an account, login here 5

6 Creating Your Account (If you already have an account skip to slide 8) 1. Enter “Massabesic” as your school 2. Click “Select This School” 6

7 Basic Information Enter your basic profile information. Once complete, Select “Submit” at the bottom of the screen and you will receive an email to verify your profile and create a password. You will then be directed to the student dashboard. 7

8 Student Dashboard = Your Homepage View your progress View local chapter opportunities Link to national news and resources View Scholarship listings and matches 8

9 Your Student Profile Click each link under “My Information” to edit or update sections of your profile To return to Dashboard 9

10 Student Profile – Basic Information Sections will expand to allow additional information. Some information is voluntary, however you may match to a broader range of scholarships by filling in all fields completely. 10

11 Student Profile – Additional Information Items marked with a double star ** are required to complete a section. Items marked with a single star * are part of your dashboard status bars to show percentage of completion in each section. 11

12 Student Profile - Schools Be complete and accurate! This will lead to more scholarship opportunities. 12

13 Student Profile - Activities **Important** Enter all athletic, community service, club, Dollars For Scholars fundraising, and extra curricular activities. Many scholarships, including Upward Bound at USM Dollars for Scholars scholarship are scored based on this information. 13

14 Student Profile - Awards 14 Click “add another award” to add an award. Make sure to include each award and the amount that you have already received award notification for.

15 Student Profile – Employment 15 Click “add another employment” to add a place of employment. Make sure to include each place of employment and the amount of hours per week that you work there.

16 Student Profile – Parent/Guardian Information Those under the age of 18 will need to complete this section. Those 18 or older can move to slide 17. If you are under 18 years of age, you must have parental permission to complete and the application process and apply for the Upward Bound at USM Dollars for Scholars Scholarship. 16

17 Student Profile – Financial Information Upward Bound at USM Dollars for Scholars uses (FASFA EFC) to evaluate applicants for scholarships based on financial need. 17

18 Student Profile - Essays Provide 300-500 word essays on your “Goals & Aspirations” and any “Unusual Circumstances” you may have experienced in your life. 18
