B ACKGROUND There are conflicting and mostly retrospective data on outcomes after drug-eluting stent implantation in SVGs. Multicenter, randomized SOS (Stenting Of Saphenous Vein Grafts) trial to compare the angiographic and clinical outcomes after implantation of a PES versus BMS in SVG lesions.

D ISCUSSION Small number of patients enrolled The losses to angiographic follow-up All patients enrolled were male Although all repeat revascularizations were driven by clinical symptoms, the protocol- required angiographic follow-up might have increased rates of repeat coronary revascularizations in both study groups and particularly in the BMS arm The median follow up of SOS was 1.5years The outcomes seen with PES might not apply to other DES.
9
C ONCLUSION The use of PES in SVG lesions is associated with lower rates of angiographic restenosis and target vessel failure than BMS.
