Word formation
2
In this type of exam task you need to fill in the gaps in a text using words that you make from the words provided. The answers must be grammatically and lexically correct.
3
Start by reading the whole text for general understanding. At every gap think what part of speech needs to be inserted and how it is formed. Remember that it is often possible to form more than one noun, adjective etc from a given root, and that those words can have different meanings, for example: economic/economical.
4
Think about what the meaning of the inserted word should be for the whole passage to make sense. Remember about negative prefixes. Consider if the gaps requires the word you intend to insert into it or perhaps its opposite. Pay attention to spelling When you finish, read the text once more to make sure it sounds coherent and logical.
