Committee on Public Information CPI or the Creel Committee, was an independent agency of the government of the United States created to influence U.S. public opinion regarding American participation in World War I. used propaganda techniques to create enthusiasm for the war effort and enlist public support to accomplish these goals.

National War Labor Board April 8, 1918 twelve representatives from business and labor, and co-chaired by former President William Howard Taft. supported and strengthened labor. supported an eight-hour day, equal pay for women, and the right to organize unions and bargain collectively. Union membership almost doubled after the formation of the NWLB

Great Migration movement of over a million blacks out of the rural Southern United States to the urban Northeast, Midwest, and West to work in manufacturing

Espionage Act passed on June 15, 1917, shortly after the U.S. entry into World War I. intended to prohibit interference with military operations or recruitment, to prevent insubordination in the military, and to prevent the support of U.S. enemies during wartime

Sedition Act enacted May 16, 1918 extended the Espionage Act of 1917 to cover a broader range of offenses, notably speech and the expression of opinion that cast the government or the war effort in a negative light or interfered with the sale of government bonds stated that people or countries cannot say negative things about the government or the war.
