Extender Question Animals ans plants that live in the desert have traits that help them use less water. Can you name any plants or animals that live in the desert? What traits do these plants or animals have?

Adventures in Writing Imagine you are a comicstrip writer for your school newspaper. Your publisher wants you to write a comic strip about an animal. Choose an animal that lives in a marine, desert, or rainforest biome as your main character. Write a comic strip about the animal encountering a problem. Include at least three steps the animal takes to solve the problem. Tell how the problem is finally solved. Use pictures, boxes, and speech bubbles to show what happens. The comic strip should be written in six frames. Include an interesting title that will grab the readers’ attention.
