2 Why is this species in danger of becoming extinct? The Florida Panther is in danger of becoming extinct because they get hit by cars, they are losing they're habitat, an because of genetic defects caused by extensive inbreeding.

4 Where is it's habitat? Florida panthers once lived in Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, and Tennessee. Today they only live in Southern Florida including the Everglades and the Big Cypress Swamp.

5 Who or what is responsible for it being endangered? Humans are responsible for the Florida panthers being endangered. Humans kill panthers by collisions with cars and trucks.

6 What is being done to save the Florida Panther? Additional habitat must be secured and enhanced Programs are underway to breed panthers in captivity for further release back into the wild Scientists are exploring ways to increase genetic variability of panthers through cross-breeding with closely related subspecies
