 Many rates that you file may already exist in RateWave’s FMC compliant Tariff database.  To limit multiple entries of the same commodity, you may look up your current commodity and check if it has been created earlier, either by your office or another Danmar office/filer.  Our compilers use the same item numbers whenever possible for the same commodities to reduce confusion.  The following will explain how to use our internal search engines to find existing commodities.

 Click on “RATE TARIFFS”.  Find and click on “DANMAR LINES” in our company database.  Click on “EXPORT TARIFF SECTIONS” or “IMPORT TARIFF SECTIONS” – both sections require passwords.  Find and click on “TARIFF SECTION XYZ”** – Tariffs are listed alphabetically by country (not including the United States). **Using the shortcut CTRL+F will produce a search box where you may type the name of the country or the number of the tariff for faster results. GO TO: www.ratewave.com

All items are 6 digits with a 4 digit extension; For example, 081390 is used for three items, but the 4 digit extension makes each item unique depending on how detailed the commodity description given. **COMMODITY INDEX SEARCH is the easiest, fastest and most effective method and we recommend using this feature FIRST; if not, then follow the instructions below

 If you want to search for the EXACT commodity description of any existing item, CLICK HERE.  You will see an index of all of our Items for the Tariff in ALPHABETICAL order.  For example:  ABRASIVE DIAMOND TOOLS FOR MAINTENANCE (680421.0000) Eff: 31JUL2009 ABRASIVE DIAMOND TOOLS FOR MAINTENANCE (680421.0000) Eff: 31JUL2009  ABRASIVES, N.O.S. 7 When using the Commodity Index search features either “By Number” or “By Name”, you may streamline the process with the following: HIT CTRL + F – a search box will open on the screen; type in the number or any part of your commodity description, hit ENTER. The computer will locate your search items (if they indeed exist in our database) and highlight them on the page. *For example, if you search “FIRE”, you MAY see: If there are multiple instances of your search criteria on the page, hitting F3 will take you one by one through the page for every instance.

This is the EASIEST and FASTEST way to search RateWave’s database You must have all or part of your commodity description AND/OR an item number to use this feature.

KEY WORDS: Using all or part of your commodity description, you may search to see if the database already has an item number for your description.** We recommend using the NOUN in your description (i.e. cups, machinery, rods, etc.), instead of the attributes (i.e. plastic, can-making, steel, etc). For example, if you enter “CUPS” that will yield relatively low amount of results; but if you enter “PLASTIC”, you will receive significantly more results for everything that may be PLASTIC. If you do not see a description that suits your needs or produces “NO RESULTS,” it will be considered a NEW ITEM in our database. If you DO find your commodity description among the search results PLEASE use that item number in your rate filing request. Again, it will help reduce duplicates and confusion in the future. **If you have an existing RATEWAVE item number, you may enter that as well so you do not have to spend time scrolling through the numbered list. The brand name of a product may also help.

HOW TO USE SEARCH, CONT. ANY key words will search for “PLASTIC” and “CUPS”, and will give ALL commodity descriptions containing any word you typed, producing several if not hundreds of search results for your commodity, i.e. any commodity with PLASTIC or CUPS ALL key words will search for “PLASTIC” and “CUPS”, and will give commodity descriptions that contain ALL of the words you typed – most specific, ie any commodity with PLASTIC and CUPS; **IMPORTANT: If you use the ALL feature, you MUST type the key parts of your commodity description; this will help the computer find the EXACT match to your commodity if already in our database WHOLE WORDS ONLY – if you are searching for ELECTROMAGNETIC, you must enter the entire word. ACCEPT PARTIAL MATCHES – you may use any part of a word, i.e. “ELECTRO” or “MAGNETIC” or “MAGNET”.

This is what you will see if your key words hit a match: This is what you will see if your key words are not found: **THIS MEANS YOUR COMMODITY EXISTS IN OUR DATABASE AND YOU CAN PROCEED TO LOOK AT EXISTING RATES. **THIS MEANS YOU HAVE A NEW ITEM FOR OUR DATABASE; YOU CAN PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE RATE FILING FORM FOR SUBMISSION.

WHEN YOU CLICK ON AN EXISTING COMMODITY THIS IS THE FIRST WEBPAGE YOU WILL SEE

(1)CONTROL NO.: This number consists of three different components: Your office code which is 3 letters for exports (your U.S. branch code) and 5 letters for imports (first 2 letters are UN country code, last 3 are your branch code). A 7 digit number that serves as an internal reference number for RateWave. The first 5 letters of the last name of the e-mail sender/rate requester. As an example: MIA09-12345SMITH (2) BASIS: Rate basis, such as W/M (weight or measure), PC (per container), LS, EA, etc. (maximum weight/volume/cube required for “LS”) (3) RATE: The monetary amount in the desired currency for the shipment. (4) CONTAINER (CTR) TYPE: Used to describe type of container (PC) being utilized; examples include FR (flat rack), HC (high cube), etc. (5) SERVICE: each origin and destination needs to have a service code; examples include “D” (door service), “S” (Container Freight Station Service), “R” (Rail Yard), etc. continued on next slide

Continued from previous slide (6) MINIMUM QUANTITY (MIN QTY) and UNITS: If there is a minimum quantity, such as ‘per 1 cbm’, these two fields will reflect your instructions; it would read “1 CBM”. (7) VIA CARRIER: If there is a specified carrier for your shipment, it will be noted here; if multiple carriers, they are listed in alphabetical order; if there is no carrier listed, then rate applies via ANY carrier. (8) NOTE: Number of notes that will apply to your rate. (9) EFFECTIVE and EXPIRES: Dates for which the individual RATE will become effective or expire.

NOTES The number of notes depends on filers’ specified instructions as well as standing rules in the Danmar tariffs. There may be no notes to a rate, or they may be 20 notes. RateWave prepares them according to the instructions given.

If you have discovered that your commodity already has an item number in our database, then please make sure the AMENDED choice is selected. This will let RateWave know that we will be working with an existing item number. **THIS IS AN EXCERPT FROM THE RATE FILING FORM

This is where you would enter the item number you have found through our search engines. This will tell RateWave which item you would like to amend. As it states, if you have an ACCURATE item number, you do not need a complete commodity description. If you are unsure of the number, please provide a commodity description in the box provided. **THIS IS AN EXCERPT FROM THE RATE FILING FORM

If you have located your commodity description in our database, you may COPY (CTRL + C) and PASTE (CTRL + V) your commodity description into the rate filing form. This is helpful for commodity descriptions with long VIZ lists from which you may be adding or deleting items.
