3. Lady Macbeth She is as ambitious as her husband. She taunts Macbeth ’ s courage to make sure that he does what she wants.

5. Banquo A general in Duncan ’ s army. He is Macbeth ’ s closest friend, but Macbeth will betray him. He is mainly a foil to Macbeth.
