Course Intended Learning Outcomes By the end of the course, students will be able to: 1.Analyze the basic features of stakeholders theory; 2.Illustrate the ethical dimension in common business practices; 3.Examine the role of globalization in economy and its impact in ethical considerations; and 4.Apply the tools of ethical reasoning to complex cases of business decisions in real life. 3

1. Group Research Blogs (20%) 1.Number of students: 3-4 members 2.Period: 2.5 weeks (week 3.1 to week 5.1; 18/7 – 1/8) 3.Group Workload: At least ONE post per class. (5 Posts total) (20%) 4.Individual Workload: At least TWO comments per class on the works of any other group blog. (10 Comments total) (10%) 5.Both Comments & Posts are evaluated every three days, not totally. 6.Contents: Reading reports of the stories of your chosen character. You may add descriptions, comments, pictures or youtube videos on the blog. 7.Creativity and design of the blog will be relevant to the assessment. 6

Group Presentation (30%) 1.Date: P1 or P2 (24/3, or 31/3). 2.Duration: 20 minutes to 25 minutes 3.Content: A 15 minutes explanation of the Business Ethics Project, using the Blog as a basic reference. 4.You are expected to meet me in late July to tell me the rough ideas of your presentation thesis. 7

3. Participation (20%) a. Online Participation (10%): Individual performance in the process of Blogging. b. Class Participation (10%): Class performance, initiative of raising questions, engagement of class discussions, etc. 8

4. Individual Paper Deadline: 10 th August, 2016. 5pm. Word Limit: 1500 words in English Location: Softcopy upload to Moodle. Content: You must write on approved topics. If there is anything else you want to write about, you must seek my approval. You cannot write on your presentation topic. 9

Questions to address in your assignments: 1.NATURE: What is the nature of the business? 2.BACKGROUND: What is the background? 3.ACTS: What have been DONE by the company? To Whom? 4.PROBLEM: Why may the actions be morally problematic? 5.DEFENSE: How may the business owner defend their practice? 6.JUDGEMENT: Why are those possible justifications unacceptable? 12
