In Liverpool we have a team of social workers for people with LD and a range of specialist health and social care provision. There is only me specifically for brain injury – and in the neighbouring authorities no specialist social services - yet there will be significant numbers of people with severe problems in all areas as a result of brain injury. This means that social workers – and it tends to be those in teams for adults with physical disability – will be working with brain injury survivors.
