Outsiders Get In 1206 Genghis Khan from Mongolia unifies the steppe people and conquers China establishing the Golden Horde Nomadic people that were very adaptable Relentless attacks with very loyal soldiers Good with the bow and developed weapons to beat different groups Controlled China, Russia, Eastern Europe, Persia

Pros of Genghis Khan Protected the Silk Road to improve trade (taxes) Better communication (postal service) Spread of cheap food (rice) Relocated people to spread ideas Tolerant in religious ideals Common currency to facilitate trade

Cons of Genghis Khan Killed lots of people Killed like a lot of people and was brutal to non- Mongolians Empire did not last long Spread of the Black Death Not one for art, literature or architecture High taxes on non-Mongolians led to rebellions
