The UK – Places of Interest I am going to show you some places of interest in the UK in this presentation there are going to be following places: Stonehenge, Loch Ness, Hadrian’s Wall, Stratford Upon Avon, Bath, Liverpool and Cambridge

Stonehenge

situated in the south-west of England is the best known prehistoric monument in the world was built around 2,500 BC it consists of circles of huge standing stones it may have served as a burial ground and a place of worship

Loch Ness Lake

Loch Ness is a large, deep, freshwater lake in the Scottish Highlands it is famous for its Loch Ness Monster called ‘Nessie’ – it is a large unknown animal it is the second largest lake in Scotland it contains the most of fresh water in Scotland

Hadrian’s Wall

was a defensive fortification in Roman Britain began in 122 AD during the rule of emperor Hadrian significant part of the wall still exists and can be followed on foot along the Hadrian’s Wall Path is the most popular tourist attraction in Northern England and is a World Heritage Site

Stratford upon Avon – the birthplace of William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare is one of the greatest playwrights in a history we can visit the house where he was born we can also visit the Royal Shakespeare Theatre we can walk through the old streets with picturesque half-timbered houses

was established as a spa town over hot springs by the Romans in 43 AD we can still admire the Roman spas there we can find some examples of Georgian architecture there Jane Austen used to live there is a World Heritage Site since 1987

is a city along the eastern side of the river Mersey in the north-western part of England became famous as a home city of the popular music group The Beatles used to be very important port its docks are a World Heritage Site since 2004 home city of a famous football club Liverpool F.C.
