Why deliberate on climate change? Originally an educational effort. Thanks to Focus the Nation, had transformative effect –Raised profile of roles campus can play in addressing climate change –Helped broaden dialogue of campus responsibility for sustainable practices beyond “usual suspects” Outcomes –Measurable improvement in factual knowledge among participants –Anecdotal evidence that “tone at the top” is changing –Currently working to expand deliberative poll to the city through the Higher Education Climate Coalition 3
