Objectives: - Raise the level of understanding of the role that the PV sector plays in positively contributing to sustainable development’s 3 pillars: environmental, economic and social. - Help enable industry wide collaboration and communication between the PV sector and external stakeholders such as the EU press corps, public policy makers, NGOs think tanks and civil society in general, in order to further enhance the growth and the reputation of the PV industry in Europe. - Establish ways and methods (e.g via identification of supportive public policy tools) so that on particular issue areas, win-win-win scenarios between the three pillars of sustainable development can be enhanced. 2. 20. The International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems Programm is one of the collaborative R&D Agreements established (in 1993) within the International Energy Agency. The mission of the IEA-PVPS programme is: "To enhance the international collaboration efforts which accelerate the development and deployment of photovoltaic solar energy as a significant and sustainable renewable energy option."
