2. MULTIPLICATION Two strategies: 1.Skip Counting 2.Memorization of facts! Games, centers, small groups Related concepts we’ll practice: –Fact Families –Arrays –2X1-digit –Square numbers

3. DIVISION Once we know our multiplication facts, division will come easy! More practice with fact families Games and center activities! We might even make it to 2-digit division!

4. FRACTIONS So many concepts to learn and practice! –Equivalent fractions –Comparing fractions –Fractions of a group –Fractions of a $ –Mixed numbers –Using a number line –Adding and subtracting fractions

5. PROBLEM SOLVING One different strategy each week for seven weeks: 1.Using logic 2.Using estimation 3.Working backwards 4.Creating a model 5.Finding extra information 6.Writing a number sentence 7.Drawing a picture

6. PRACTICE AT HOME! This quarter, we will have some homework! Each week, I will ask you to practice your math facts at home for about an hour (10-15 minutes/night) A log will be sent home – parents have to sign and return! You may practice with: –Flash cards –IXL –Math apps on your iPad or iPod –Math games (even on the computer!)
