WHAT IS “CML TODAY”? A mobile app for CML patients Available for free in the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. App StoreGoogle Play Available in 7 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Hebrew, Arabic (more will follow) The app is not limited to a specific drug, brand or manufacturer. It can thus be used by any CML patient treated in accordance with current therapeutic standards.

Tracks the regular intake of your medicine Reminds you to take your prescribed medication Tracks PCR results and other laboratory parameters Helps connect with local support groups in your country Shows worldwide CML Patient Organizations´ profiles containing useful information in the respective local language

WHY WAS “CML TODAY” DEVELOPED? Some background information: As in other chronic diseases, non-adherence to treatment is a well-known problem also in CML, where most patients need to take their medication on daily basis. In 2012-2013 the CML Advocates Network conducted a scientifically sound international study that aimed at investigating motivations and behavioral patterns of adherence in CML and subsequently supporting hematologists and patients to improve adherence by developing suitable adherence tools.

Our research was truly global: 12 languages, 2546 CML patients from 79 countries Sample: Total of 2546 respondents Global reach Methodology Online - Recruited by patient associations online & via other methods Paper & Pen (France, Germany, Italy) – Recruited by physicians at consultations CML patients over 18 years old, currently taking oral medication for CML Fieldwork – Started on CML World Day, 22/9 2012 – 30 th January 2013 2151 395 Paper Online Countries with >30 respondents Countries with base <30 respondents

Our survey revealed that a significant number of patients are non-adherent! Questions: Forget medication Miss for other reason Stopped because felt worse Forgot when travelling Taken yesterday? Stop when under control Inconvenience How often having difficulty to remember Low: 21 % Medium: 47 % High: 33 % Adherence score classifies patients into adherence groups*: * We used the validated Morisky Adherence Scale to classify patients into adherence levels

There is a high demand for reminder tools! 26% of all survey participants said they would appreciate a reminder tool for use on their smartphone! For each item, please indicate whether you already use such a tool, or if you would use the tool if it were available
