IABIN Protected Areas Thematic Network Objective:Objective: –To promote the more effective sharing of information on protected areas within and between the countries of the Americas Hemisphere, building on and contributing to existing global experience in this area through close collaboration with the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas and the UNEP-WCMC.

PATN Data Content Grant PATN will be launching at the end of May 2008 the “Request for Proposals” US$ 100,000 available to proposals of US$ 10,000 Focus on “Data Digitizing Activities” Data must be compatible and accessible by PATN Database / World Database on Protected Areas (WDPA) The IABIN Countries can: –Do data entry at PATN Database web based interface. –Adopt the National Protected Areas Database System offered by Brazil. –Organize and send digitized data to PATN Coordinating Institution, following PATN Data Standards.
