3. Custom template Instructions
Each template kit should contain transparent template material and permanent marker.
Ensure kit contains enough template material to complete the template of your custom Aqua Traction application. (Generally a 22-24’ bay boat will require 4-5 template sheets)
Lay transparent template material on surface you plan to apply Aqua Traction on, center and tape to surface.
On boats with non-skid to skid surface (I.E. bay boat), utilize permanent marker and straight edge to trace outline of the skid surface.
If non-skid to skid surface is not present, lay transparent template material on preferred location and trace desired pattern.
If the pattern choice is Aqua Groove or Faux Teak, please specific desired line direction as well as the orientation from part to part. It is recommended that you draw a few lines of the transparent template material, as well as lines from part to part.
Identify latches, hinges, cleats or cutouts on the transparent template material
Template material may be cut and taped together to create full desired template outlines. Please note that sheets sizes come in 40”x 80” and 50” x 54”, if desired part exceeds these dimensions, part may need to be split into multiple parts. Part splitting will be done during the design process.
Once templates are complete, do not cut on the line you have traced with the marker, this line will be used for reference with the digitizer to finalize template design.

4. Custom template Instructions
Draw sketch of each part and number on Custom Template Diagram.
Document description of each part on the Custom Template Notes.
Each piece of transparent template material should contain the following information;
Part number – Part number should also be associated to sketch on template and description
Customer name and phone number
Top side of template
Direction of bow, stern, portside and starboard side
Color choice and type of flooring
Note any cutouts, latches, hinges or cleats
Note desired location of custom logo, if applicable
Before template is removed, take digital photo
Refer to sample templates during custom template design process.
Complete all information and forms associated with the custom design process. Take your time developing your custom templates, the more accurate template you provide the more precise your finished product will be.
