To determine the VALUE of each DIGIT in a number, we need to look at its PLACE in the number. For example, let's look at the number 423 Hundreds Place Tens Place Ones Place 4 2 3 The value of the 4 is 4 hundreds or 400 The value of the 2 is 2 tens or 20 The value of the 3 is 3 ones or 3 CONFIDENTIAL
