The Five Pillars

Muslims must carry out five duties 1.Shahadah = statement of faith to Allah and to Muhammad as his prophet 2.Salah = pray five times a day, can use a mosque – Islamic house of worship 3.Sawm = fast between dawn and sunset during holy month of Ramadan 4.Zakah = give alms, or money for the poor 5.Hajj = perform the hajj – pilgrimage to Mecca – at least once
