1 Scientific Revolution & Enlightenment Interviews

2 Project Overview 1. Allocation of an individual to you from the Master List of Thinkers’ Names. 2. Research your individual and make general notes. 3. Create a Works Cited page as you research. 4. Decide on a job (in the year 2014) for which you would like to apply. Be creative! 5. Make Interview Prompt note-cards. 6. Make a C.V. 7. Make a cover letter as your historical figure. 8. Edit, revise, make final preparations. 9. Attend a job interview as the historical figure! 10. Write thank you letter/e-mail to your interviewer.

3 How will you be marked? Quality of your research, Works Cited sheet, use of time – 10 % Quality and content of your CV – 40% Quality and content of your cover letter – 10% Performance during interview – 40% ALL elements must be completed – including the thank you letter/email.

4 Step Two Make notes on your individual Make notes on your individual keeping in mind this assessment’s requirements. Have at least 1 piece of info for each of the 9 note cards You must have a minimum of 8 sources (excluding the text book) and no more than 5 of them may be electronic sources. This information will be used to complete your CV. - Do not write in full sentences - Record the source from where you received the information!

5 Step Three Works Cited page This page records your minimum of 8 sources (excluding the text book) – remember, no more than 5 of them can be electronic sources You should keep a record of the sources (publications, internet sites etc) that you have used. 6 Step Four Decide on a Job 1. Find a job that suits the skills and knowledge of your individual. The job must be a job from 2015 Avoid jobs that are too similar to the real job of your individual. 2. 7 Step Five Make Interview Prompt Cards Using the 9 note cards with information you’ve collected so far Create a note-card for each of the following: 1.Biography (address, nationality, languages spoken) 2.Education 3.Work experience (include info about colleagues and friends) 4.Publications you have written/published 5.Impact of your thinker on their field (and other fields?) 6.Quotes about you/ Quotes you have made 7.Big Ideas (how did these challenge traditional thoughts)

8 Additional Guiding Questions Things to make your interview stand out! 1.What was your childhood like? Who were you close to? 2.Why do you think you pursued education?/Why not? 3.Did you enjoy your work experience, how did you friends/colleagues perceive you? 4.Was there any special inspiration that caused you to publish your thoughts? 5.How do you feel about how you contributions have supported your field of study? How have others interpreted your thoughts in recent times? 6.If you had to choose one quote to describe you best, what would it be? 7.Are your ideas referenced in pop culture? If so, why do you think they were used in this particular context? 8.Who else was relevant in your time? Were you reading their works, did you even know about them? Were you speaking/in correspondence with them?

9 Homework 16/3  Continue your research on your thinker (9 full note cards with paraphrased information about a specific publication, quote or achievement) 18/3  You have 2 weeks, if you’d like to use them. (make sure your parents only refer to you as your character ;) ) & HAVE AN AWESOME BREAK!!!!
