1. Calendar Year 2015 Attestation Deadlines As of March 9, 2016

2. Meaningful Use Medicare Attestation The Deadline for Medicare attestation for CAH, Hospitals, and Providers is Friday March 11, 2016 at 11:59 pm. Hospitals, CAH, and providers that have exhausted all payments must continue to attest to avoid a payment penalty.

3. Delays in 2015 Medicaid Meaningful Use Attestation Currently the Georgia Medicaid system cannot accept meaningful use attestations. Providers that have previously Medicaid and will not meet the Medicaid volume requirement can attest using the Medicare system to avoid a Medicare Penalty.

4. CMS Warning Warning: A Medicaid provider who has participated in Medicaid for a prior year and cannot meet Meaningful Use for the current year may submit an Alternate Attestation under the Medicare program. However, if the Medicaid provider receives an EHR Incentive Payment from the Medicaid program for the same Program Year, the Alternate Attestation status will be set to Rejected. In addition, Alternate Attestations done under the Medicare program are subject to Medicare audit, and adverse audit findings may lead to rejection of the Medicare attestation.

5. Medicaid AIU Attestation The deadline for 2015 Medicaid AIU attestation is currently March 31, 2016

6. Exception Requests The streamlined hardship applications reduce the amount of information that eligible professionals (EPs), eligible hospitals, and CAHs must submit to apply for an exception. This new, streamlined application process is the result of PAMPA, which established that the Secretary may consider hardship exceptions for “categories” of EPs, eligible hospitals, and CAHs that were identified on CMS’ website as of December 15, 2015. Prior to this law, CMS was required to review all applications on a “case-by-case” basis.

7. Extension for Request for Exception to Medicare Payment Adjustment Importantly, EPs, eligible hospitals, and CAHs that wish to use the streamlined application must submit their application according to the timeline established in PAMPA: Eligible Professionals: July 1, 2016 Eligible Hospitals & CAHs: July 1, 2016
