B-11, B-12, and TVR – Verification Reminder Locals must submit their December 2013 CAPs (B- 11, B-12, and B-TVR) for verification by changing the status to Verification & Closeout Request Submitted. Request for Verification & Closeout should have occurred no later than September 15. ISD monitors must complete verification in CIMS no later than November 1. September 16, 2014 8

B-11, B-12, and TVR – CAP Activity Verification REQUIRED SECTION Key question: Were all CAP activities completed? –Remember, locals are required to list all CAP activities (and what evidence will be available to confirm it was completed) in their CAP –Refer back to the CAP and comment on each activity September 16, 2014 10

B-11 and B-12 New Data Submission Key question: Were data verified through a new data submission? For some CAPs, the state is able to verify compliance by reviewing data submitted through ongoing data collection activities Review the report and note the following response: AnswerNext Step Yes, data submission was compliant Save and change the status to Closeout Request Submitted to MDE No or N/A, data submission was noncompliant or not available Review student records and complete the next section of the form September 16, 2014 11

B-11 and B-12 Student Record Reviews Key question: Are the data now at 100% compliance? For some CAPs, student records must be reviewed to verify compliance because new data were either not available or not compliant These reviews will be documented through the Student Record Review fields The following fields are required: –Verification date –Student name –UIC –Record compliant? Please pull 8 student records (if available) Enter student data If all records are compliant Change status to Closeout Request Submitted to MDE If any records are noncompliant: –The local can retrain/provide targeted training –Following the training, the ISD monitor must return to the local to verify correction by pulling additional records that have been completed subsequent to completion of the additional training If noncompliance persists, the CAP cannot be closed September 16, 2014 14

B-TVR Verification For locals with a B-TVR CAP, verification is done through the MSDS validation activity in the August Workbook Monitors complete the MSDS validation activity found under the Data tab In the B-TVR CAP’s CAP Verification page, record if the activity was compliant in the Verification Notes section. IEP Implementation B-3 IEP Implementation validation activities will not occur this year due to variability with the state assessment. Anticipated B-3 IEP Implementation validation activity is Spring 2016 September 16, 2014 16

B-12 Data Verification Activity 2013-2014 School year file is not yet available from CEPI When it’s received, Lisa Waszac will review and decide if data verification is needed More information will be presented as it becomes available September 16, 2014 17

B-13 IEP Corrections Locals with a B-13 CAP must correct non-compliant IEPs by October 1, 2014 These verification of corrected IEPs should be documented with the CAP submission Monitors can use the Local Student Data Report found under the B-13 CAP Menu Resources to access the list of students whose IEPs need to be corrected September 16, 2014 18
