14. If you will use more than one bus on your trip (going one direction) – pay the fare on the first bus and request a transfer from the driver. Using Transfers When you board the next bus, show the driver your transfer – you will not need to pay again.

23. Getting on the Correct Bus At the bus stop – look for stickers on the sign with the names / numbers of the bus routes that come to the stop On the front of bus – look for bus route name / number sign If you are not sure - ask the driver

24. Requesting Accommodations: Have the driver wait until you are seated before pulling away. Tell the driver your destination stop instead of ringing the bell. Use communication device or aids.

25. Use the lift even if you do not use a mobility device. Bring a portable shopping cart onto the bus using the lift or stairs. Have the driver pull all the way up to the curb so there is no gap to step over.

26. Finding a Seat The seats near the front of the bus are designated for people with disabilities or older adults. Be aware that you may have to move if a person using a wheelchair boards the bus and you are sitting in the securement area.

27. Ring bell about a block before your stop. Request Your Stop Exceptions: People with visual impairments or who use communication cards or mobility devices should communicate directly with driver.

28. Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop Exit out the rear door if possible Remember your accommodation rights Disembark

29. If you are unable to use public transit - Access-a-Ride A van service provided by RTD for persons limited in their ability to use the regular Certification process with Easter Seals in Lakewood
