3 About the Instructor Reside in Connecticut Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Nutritional Science Master’s of Science in Nutritional Science Graduate Certificate in Health Promotion and Health Education Certified Health Education Specialist 3 years teaching experience, both online and in classroom.

4 Ice Breaker Activity Which section of SC300 are you in (Molika, Eugene, or Heather)? What part of the United States (or country in the world) are you from? How many of you are new here to Kaplan, or almost finishing up? What science classes have you taken before?

5 Flex Seminar Schedule There are three SC300 seminars that will be held during the unit week. You can attend 1 out of the 3 based on your schedule and flexibility. 9 Seminar Etiquette Be respectful of your classmates and instructors.  Avoid using language or phrases that are disrespectful and can offend anyone.  Treat the seminar discussions as if you are in a professional environment. Do not type in all CAPS  Shouting Practice good grammar, punctuation and composition. Use spell check to decrease the amount of errors in your posts.

12 Tips for Succeeding in SC300  Break-up the Chapter Readings each day by section.  Spend time each day completing the Mini-project or Seminar Option 2. › Cover Page & APA Reference Page › Organized into indented, double-spaced paragraphs  (Introduction, Topic Paragraphs, Conclusion) › Spell and Grammar Check  Participate in Discussion Frequently (3-4 x/week, 2+ posts per thread)  Submit Assignments on Time! (by Tuesday night at 11:59 pm ET)  If stuck or have questions, do not hesitate to contact your instructor, especially about grading.
