6  continuum -range, array, assortment, group  There are numbers 1-5 placed around the room; these #’s are based on a continuum on how you feel about a particular subject/question  I want to be a teacher “when I grow up”  I enjoy children  I am excited about this class  I am scared about this class  I am nervous to teach in my “lab” classroom  I am willing to put forth 100% in this class to do my very best

8 Lab requirements  Paperwork –clearances, updated health form, TB test…anything your specific site wants from you  Expectations of Students in Field Experience Settings handout  11 Lesson plans…you are required to implement at least 3 lesson plans…we’ll get into this more next week Lab sign ups  @ LCCC Early Learning Center or a center of YOUR choice If time permits, tour of Education Research & Resource Lab (SH 125)

9  Look around the class website; check email several times  Buy and bring your Program Manual to class next week (put it in a 3-ring binder)  we will be going over the Lab Manual papers page by page (remember…lab manual is found as one of the sections inside the Program Manual)  Organize your class binder with the "tabs" listed on your syllabus  Read remainder of Expectations of Students in Field Experience Settings handout  Contact a child care facility to do your 30 hours of lab; get days & times established with them-ask what clearances they require of you  If you need clearances, send them off this week! Don’t wait!!  use the links on the class website to obtain the needed forms
