The Hertfordshire overview: the present Terms and conditions of service provision (including health and safety checks) Increase in range of providers - decrease in those active Decrease in students (reported to LA) on off-site programmes No additional funding to purchase provision Greater emphasis from Ofsted on quality and schools’ monitoring the provision Electronic Directory on Youth Connexions site www.youthconnexions-hertfordshire.org/altprovision Schools (and partnerships of schools) setting up own ‘Directories’ Hertfordshire 14-19 Education and Skills Strategy

The Hertfordshire overview: present into future Schools and ESCs will take the lead on commissioning and quality assurance of independent alternative providers Ofsted will treat this as a priority and focus on the quality of teaching and learning No central directory compiled by the 14-19 team Greater flexibility in the choice of providers in your local directory – not just those who are offering an introduction to sector specific training and employability skills So how do we move towards the future?
