Introduction This slideshow project will teach you and others about radiator fluid, how it works, and how to use it properly. We will go in-depth into this unique liquid and even give you tips and steps on how to install it into your vehicle without error.
3
What is a Radiator? A radiator is a cooling device used in a vehicle, through which radiator fluid is used to cool down the engine.
4
What is Radiator Fluid? Radiator fluid is a coolant liquid inserted into the radiator of a vehicle. It is designed to cool the vehicle’s engine and keep it from overheating.
5
How it Works When the radiator fluid is inserted into the radiator of the car, the fluid is cooled by a fan inside this device and the air coming into the radiator through the car’s vents.
6
How it Works Once the fluid is cooled it will pass into the car's engine and cool it down to ensure that it runs smoothly.
7
How it Works Once the fluid passes through the engine it will become hot and will pass once again into the radiator to be cooled down before returning into the engine for another cycle.
8
This is How it Works!
9
How to Install it Step 1 Pull the hood release lever located under the vehicle’s dashboard to open the hood slightly.
10
How to Install it Step 2 Walk to the front of the car and reach under the hood. Grab the latch under the hood, squeeze it and pull open the hood.
11
How to Install it Step 3 Look for the reservoir tank under the hood, which should still have a bit of coolant residue. Next find the loose hose leading to the radiator tank.
12
How to Install it Step 4 Unscrew the cap on the tank, and add the coolant, which is a 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze, to the full line.
13
How to Install it Tips The coolant you use keeps reusing itself, so if your reservoir tank is empty it may have a leak.
14
How to Install it Tips If your vehicle is overheating and the reservoir tank is empty you may want to add straight water at first, instead of the regular coolant mixture.
15
How to Install it Warnings If your vehicle is overheating DO NOT try and remove the radiator cap, it could result in a serious burn.
16
How to Install it Warnings Don’t leave your radiator fluid lying around because it tastes sweet to pets but is extremely lethal to them.
