Characteristic of written communication.

Academic Writing 1.Follow a model (or 3 or 5) 2.Know your style guidelines from the beginning 3.Keep your eye on your “golden thread(s)” 4.Revise throughout all the way to the end
5
Editing
6
1.Works best for long work with a mutually agreed upon template. 2.Revision is iterative – so is feedback and editing. 3.Share the feedback you have had before – if long winded or redundant then tell them to watch for that. Relies on feedback from a trusted source. After graduation consider co-authoring with someone else.
7
Editing 1.Agree on time/price as a contractual arrangement – no surprises. 2.Agree on the focus. 3.Know that you are in control as customer 1.Do you want it back in stages? 2.Are there particular concerns?
8
Publishing

Did you think the work was done when you published??? Silly you! Web world divides into inbound and outbound – another way of looking at it might be relational vs. targeted. Publishers will tell you the best determinant of success is whether or not an author markets
