2 Period 1-Organization and Planners

3 Organization-Binder, Planner, Supplies Use dividers for every subject Keep pencils and pens in a pencil pouch or container Keep planner in binder Update planner every time you receive an assignment Look at your planner when you get home Binder, Planner, Supplies NEED to be at school EVERY DAY!!!

4 Binder Organization Make sure all of your papers are in the correct section Make sure you have recycled papers you no longer need Look at your planner and start thinking about your week ahead

5 2 nd Period-Goal Setting-1 st Sem. Last day of semester No School

6 Goal Setting Ideas Semester ends on January 30 th ---in approximately 4 weeks Think about each class: what is your goal for each class? How are you going to achieve these goals? What support do you need to achieve these goals?

7 Period 3 – Culture of Respect Responsible Eagles Show Positive Expected Characteristics Today…and everyday!

8 Benefits of a Respectful Community Positive relationships and interactions are the KEY to SUCCESS  Keep an open mind; take every opportunity to learn from others  Every adult in this building is here to support your success  You can make a difference in someone else’s life

9 Empower Your Voice and Actions RESPECT is the KEY Speak up for yourself and others ▫If you are unable to do this, find an adult who will help you immediately ▫Make a choice not to be a victim ▫If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe with how someone is treating you, talk to a trusted adult Expect Change ▫If you report bullying or harassment, expect to see this behavior changed ▫If it continues, follow up with a trusted adult

11 Lunchroom Expectations Be respectful of ALL adults in the hallways, lunchroom, and outside Locker times Before/after school During passing period before and after lunch (you may not return to your lockers during lunch) With hall pass from teacher Composting and recycling is expected by all this year Clean up your area (towels provided to wipe up spills) Wait your turn in line All food is to be eaten in the cafeteria only

12 Additional Lunchroom Expectations After eating, clean up your mess and help make sure that those around you clean up their messes. Please raise your hand and wait for an adult to dismiss you. Dismissal starts 15 minutes into the lunch session. You may go to: ▫the garden (please refrain from touching the hard work done last year) ▫Field or basketball courts ▫ Game Room in Portable 13 ▫Library with a pass Available Restrooms during lunch: ▫Girls: directly across from cafeteria ▫Boys: go outside, through the garden, and around building to the restroom by the gym Remember, expected behavior is expected everywhere

13 Library during Lunch and other times During Lunch: ▫Find a hall parent right outside the lunchroom ▫Get a blue library pass and head straight to library ▫There may be days when the library is closed during lunch due to classes/testing. During Class or HR: ▫Need a pass from your teacher Before and After School: ▫Library open ½ hour before and after school

14 Period 4- Hall and Restroom Expectations

15 Volume Levels Level 0-Silence Level 1-Whisper Level 2-Quiet talk with partners at a table Level 3-Outside voices in outside areas only

16 Hallway Expectations Walk on the RIGHT side of the hallway and stairs Make sure both outside doors are open (exit on the right and enter on the right) Be mindful of where you stand…make sure there is plenty of room for people to get by Walk…walk…walk (Translation: Running is not walking) Respect all student work in halls and in hands

17 Expected Times to Do Things Locker expectations: ▫Before school ▫ Before lunch ▫After lunch ▫After school Bathroom expectations: ▫Before school ▫Passing periods ▫After school Visiting with Friends: ▫During passing period, ONLY if you will be on time to class ▫At lunch ▫On your way home

18 Bathroom Expectations GO. FLUSH. WASH. LEAVE. Respect bathroom supplies and surroundings Keep bathrooms clean and safe Respect your peers’ privacy Tell an adult if you notice something that needs to be fixed or cleaned

22 Use of Technology All use of personal technology needs to be school related Cell phones must be silenced at all times Students may never use phones for photos or videos due to safety concerns Your personal technology is your responsibility to keep safe ▫Know where it is at all times ▫Keep your locker combination safe

23 Use Technology Safely EVERYTHING you post, write, and photograph can be traced Make SMART and POSITIVE choices when you use technology THINK TWICE before posting anything REPORT any cyber-bullying or harassment immediately REMEMBER even what you post on Facebook can have consequences at school

24 General Safety Be aware of your surroundings at all times Use marked crosswalks ONLY Make eye contact with drivers before you begin to cross the street Pay attention to buses, cabs, and other moving vehicles WALK on the sidewalks and crosswalks…darting into the street is dangerous Wear a helmet when you ride your bike Signal when you are riding your bike
