2 What Were the Cultural Trends? Both In the 20’s, the cultural trends were completely different from now. They wore different clothes, had fun differently, and read different things. 1920’s transportation

3 What is The Prohibition? Swarith The Prohibition is a period where making, transporting, selling alcohol was illegal. It was a very serious crime, but there were still many smugglers. In Chicago, they built a wine bottle-shaped building because they missed alcohol so much.

4 What is the KKK? Swarith :( The KKK was found in 1866. They stand for Ku Klux Klan. They believed that blacks and whites are not equal. They target both Black and White Congress leaders in the South along with certain religions they did not like. They wore costumes to conceal and represent themselves. The exist still in Southern states, but there is no recent activity. This is a group of KKK

5 Who Was the President? Swarith :( There were four presidents in the 20’s. Woodrow Wilson(1913-1921), Warren G. Harding(1921-1923), Calvin Coolidge(1923-1929), and Herbert Hoover(1923-1933). 6 Clothing and Entertainment Swarith In the 20’s the most popular clothing articles were the cloche hat and the flapper dress. People styled their hair flat so it would fit easily in the hat. These articles were usually worn together for fashion. You can see how this is different from modern clothing. Entertainment was a big hit in the 20’s. Movies first were silent, but sound was added in 1927. People also liked many types of plays. Especially romance ones like Shakespeare. Cinema Theater

7 Music and Food Satya During the 1920’s, music had a huge impact on society.African Jazz was the most popular type of music, at the time. Many people such as Louis Armstrong were popular musicians who have had started their careers played African Jazz. Also in the 1920’s, there was many different types of food that was popular. An example can be the different finger foods often served at parties such as deviled eggs, tea sandwiches, salted nuts, shrimp cocktail and canapés which all were often served. Looking back at the 1920’s, many people don’t see the rich agriculture that was there, and it is slowly being forgotten. However the prosperous music and food, should be famous for the parts they played in the 1920’s. Louis Armstrong

8 What is a Rum Runner? Satya :D During the time since rum was banned, many people smuggled it. Though smuggling wine was illegal at the time, many people still did this for either $ or for themselves to have. They would smuggle the wine, then hide it somewhere, and finally, take the smuggled item out whenever they wished to do so. These people were named rum runners for their devious deeds.

10 What Was the Standard of Living? Satya :) During the 1920’s, the Standard of Living was very good, especially if you were rich or in the middle class. Living a wealthy country such as the U.S. opened up many opportunities for the citizens at this time.Many people at this were able to afford cars, houses, and other items that would make feel or actually be spoiled. A lot of these people were able to enjoy themselves and also glamore up. MODEL T: In 1927, the last Model T was made. Ford knew that there was many new technologies now that would allow him to make a better car. He stopped making the T and came up with a different Model A. MODEL A : Sometime after the Model T, the Model A was shown to people in New York. Unlike the Model T, the Model A could be ordered in colors like blue. The other model only came in only black.
