What is Conditional? “Something will only be done if something else happens first” (Longman)

SO What is Conditional Sentence? “ It is one that begins with “if” or “unless” and expresses something that must be true or happen before something else can be true”(Longman).

There are 4 Conditional 0.Zero Conditional First Conditional Second Conditional Third Conditional

Zero Conditional: Zero conditional is used to talk about things which are always true for example scientific facts,general truths. Example: If you heat the water to 100 degrees, it boils. IF PRESENT SIMPLE

First Conditional It is used to talk about things which are possible in the present or the future. Example: If it rains, I will stay at home IFPRESENT SİMPLEWILL + BASE VERB

Second Conditional: It is used to talk about things which are unreal in the present or the future Things which don’t happen or won’t happen. Example: If I had a million dollars, I would buy a big house. IFPAST SIMPLEWOULD – COULD - MIGHT

Third Conditional: It is used to talk about things which DID NOT HAPPEN in the past. Example: If I had studied harder, I would have passed the exam. IFPAST PERFECTWOULD/COULD/MIGHT +HAVE +PAST PARTICIPLE

SOME EXAMPLES: If people don’t eat,they get hungry. (zero) If my mom let me come, I will come. (first)
